The Terry Hsieh Collective is comprised of some of the most young and upcoming musicians in the music world. Their music has been hailed as a powerful mixture of diverse influences and sounds, ranging from hard bop, to gospel, soul, and traditional Chinese music. They are: Jacob Baron, Alexander Cummings, Jackson Hill, Terry Hsieh, Patrick Adams, and Peter Manheim.


The Blue Head Sextet is a Jazz/Hard Bop project by renowned Jazz pianist Xia Jia, Drummer Beibei, Trumpet player Wen Zhiyong and bass player Zhang Ke, who all have been activists in the Beijing jazz scene for years. Their goal for this project was to lay the foundations for the creation of Chinese Jazz. When they began, they started by imitating the 50s and 60s Hard Bop movement, in the style of innovators like Horace Silver, Benny Golson, Dexter Gordon, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane and more. Since then, they have developed their own unique styles music, a hybrid of all these influences and more.
